Visualization and Weight Loss – Seeing is Becoming

visualization-and-weight-lossThere are many conditions in your life that can be improved by visualization and weight loss is definitely one of them.

When combined with self-hypnosis, visualization can be a powerful tool in your quest to lose weight permanently.  What happens is you hold a vision of what you want your body to look like in your mind’s eye.  Your subconscious will take that vision as a reality and will have you start behaving in a way that will allow you to reach your goals quickly and effortlessly.

Often we sabotage our own weight loss efforts.  Even though consciously we may want to lose weight, for some reason we have extreme difficulty doing so.  It may be that we are plagued by negativity from within our own minds and if we believe that it is impossible for us to lose weight then we will constantly be battling against ourselves.

In order to be successful at losing weight you must replace the negativity with more positive thoughts about your body and have your mind become more accepting of your diet and fitness goals.  You can tremendously improve the relationship between your unconscious mind and your conscious desires by pairing visualization and weight loss.

You need to practice every day, twice a day is ideal…it only takes a few minutes each time.  Find yourself a quiet place, breathe deeply and feel your body relax, then hold an image of yourself in your mind of what you want your body to look like.  Picture your body in great detail at its ideal weight. If you find this difficult to do look at a picture of yourself from the past when you were at your ideal weight.

If you don’t have such a picture, cut out a photo from a magazine of the body you wish to have.  You need to replace the head of the body from the magazine with a picture of your own head.  Once you’ve done this you just need to focus on this image twice a day while you are in a relaxed state.

I prefer to visualize from within and focus on one part of my body at a time.  This is how you do it.  Breathe slowly and deeply, relax your body, gently close your eyes and become aware of one part of your body.  For example, you can focus on your upper right arm and slowly imagine it becoming thinner.  Then move onto your other arm and from there other parts of your body visualizing each part becoming thinner.

As you practice this each day you will find yourself behaving in ways that make it possible for you to align your eating and exercise habits so that you can achieve the picture you have in your mind of your ideal body.

Using visualization and weight loss allows you to create a new, positive body image right away.  So start visualizing now and visualize often and you’ll begin to see a clear and happy picture of your ideal body on the inside as well as the outside.
