emotional eatingYou can’t get away from it. You need to eat to live. The problem with many of us though is that we live to eat. Unfortunately, food can become tied to your emotions. The problem of emotional eating shows up eventually on the scale but it begins first in the mind.

We all have our good days and not so good days. For some of us, we deal with these not so good days by eating. You know, we reach for those “comfort foods.” That wouldn’t be so bad if our comfort foods consisted of apples or broccoli but they don’t. They usually consist of high fat or high sugar content such as mashed potatoes and gravy or cookies and milk…or pick your poison.

We often feel better after eating these foods because they stimulate the release of endorphins the same way that exercise does. The problem is the stress that causes us to eat emotionally is still there along with the extra pounds we’re packing on by eating instead of trying to find solutions to the problems that are causing us to overeat in the first place.

Finding better ways to deal with stress and any issues that pop up in your life is crucial to letting go of using food as an emotional crutch and seeing it simply as nutrition for your body.

First, you need to realize you have a problem. Second, you may want to seek counseling because emotional eating has nothing to do with dieting really, it has to do with taking control of your emotions.

Because it begins in the mind, using self hypnosis for emotional eating is a great way to help you overcome it. By re-programming your mind you will be able to stop using food to deal with the stresses in your life and begin to develop the skills you need to live a truly fulfilling life.

Finding different ways to deal with your problems rather than by eating emotionally will help you to feel good about yourself and will replace the dependence you have on food. This in turn will allow you to lose weight naturally.

  1. Don’t focus on little eating. Eat as much you want but the fat free foods. Why don’t you try the lemon cleanse. It consists of organic lemon juice distilled or mineral drinking water, grade b maple syrup and canine pepper. you can find the recipe on line. But I did this 2 weeks before my wedding and lost 20 lbs by literally living on this stuff. I gained it all back in a month but then I used it a gain 1 year later when I kick started my new weight watchers lifestyle and so far I have lost over 50 lbs and kept it all off. Use the lemon cleanse as a kick start for 2 weeks then transition into a healthier lifestyle you’ll keep it off I promise.
