Does Hypnosis for Weight Loss Work?

hypnosis-for-weight-lossHypnosis for weight loss can be just a bit misleading.  Unfortunately, it’s not a magic bullet.  However, it can help you to suppress your appetite which in turn will cause you to actually eat less.  Of course, as you know, when you eat less you lose weight. 

Hypnosis for weight loss will also help you increase your motivation to exercise each day.  Aside from your mindset, the two most important aspects of losing weight are consuming less calories and exercising more.

It’s amazing that by using hypnosis for weight loss rather than drugs you can gain control of your life and create that new, healthier, slender person you’ve always wanted to be.

self hypnosis for weight lossTo start using self hypnosis for weight loss, all you really need is a quiet,   comfortable space where you won’t be disturbed.  Make sure you turn off your phone and if there’s anyone else in the house, let them know that you don’t want to be interrupted.

You can actually go outside as well if you know of a quiet peaceful place.  I am lucky enough to live near a lake, so in the summer I grab a comfy blanket and pillow and do my self hypnosis for weight loss under a big, old tree.

Begin your self hypnosis for weight loss by becoming totally relaxed.  You can do this by taking slow, deep breaths and by tensing and relaxing each part of your body.  What you want to do once you are completely relaxed is to begin picturing yourself as a healthier, slimmer you.

Along with picturing how you would like to look, imagine how you want to feel.  Imagine how much more energetic you’ll be once you’ve lost the weight that is holding you back.  You will also want to implant suggestions into your mind, such as I will eat only when I’m hungry, I love to exercise, and other suggestions that are specific to your struggle to lose weight.

Your mind is a powerful thing and will follow whatever suggestions your subconscious mind gives it.  In order for this to be effective though you have to be relaxed and you need to believe it.

As you continue using self hypnosis for weight loss, you’ll be amazed at how easy it has become for you to eat the foods you know you should be eating and to get up and exercise.  Once you are doing these two things you’ll see how quickly the weight melts off.

If you’re not comfortable using self hypnosis on yourself, you may want to try out either a hypnosis for weight loss CD or mp3.  This way all you have to worry about is finding a comfortable spot and following the suggestions given to you instead of having to come up with them on your own.

    I never really gave hypnosis much thought. The only real picture I could come up with was either involving mental health or a comic performer. Now I can see how this can be a great motivational tool to keep people on their diet.

    I think many people have that image of the stage hypnotist in their minds and kind of blow off the idea that hypnosis could help them in any real way. But it is really a valuable tool to help you change your mind on so many things that it is well worth investigating.

    I totally agree Ron. The hardest thing to do when trying to lose weight is to take on the mindset of a slim, healthy person. We`re so used to thinking in one way about ourselves that it is often difficult to change those perceptions. I think that is what holds most folks back from being successful at losing weight and keeping it off.
